saviorknights asked: Time to get PUMPED for race day! What do you like about the men's boat? What do you like about the ladies' boat?

Men’s Boat: The (in)famous prolonged adrenaline rush that amps up strength and rate of the boat.

Rushing aside, the acceleration of the boat at the start, the powers and the finish is incredible on the men’s boat. This will be only my second men’s race. Last year at CC, I lost my balance at the finish because I didn’t anticipate the spike in speed (not a good thing for me because Tomio kept punching my back). This year we lost a lot of raw muscle but I hope that we can still bring the same energy to our race. Unstable rate will not be as much of an issue this time, so we just need to pull together with great torque the entirety of the race. Also interesting to have regular strokes as mens strokes.

Women’s boat: Everything cuz you’re all girls durrrrr

Since I’m usually in at least the timing box, I really like the precision timing of the girls boat. Rarely have I ever felt a truly unified bump on the boat and to have that in a race is deadly. Since I’m not a girl, I can’t really say that you all bond better than the guys but you are all certainly more talkative, which makes the bonds grow faster. Hopefully the ladies boat will still be able to do this with a mixed crew.

I usually see the gender crews as the fun runs of the day. Hopefully both crews will enjoy their races even though both are fairly new.

Sometimes, you just got to take it slow…

It seems as though slow dancing is fading away as slow love songs are becoming less popular. We hope that despite the radios and DJs not playing them, that people will still find a way to have this special moment together, because there are few things like the innocent romantic emotions that come from slowly swaying with a person you really care about, to a good, sweet song. As we grow up, slow dancing is one of those things that don’t happen much anymore. So don’t take it for granted… slow dance whenever and wherever, because there are fewer and fewer opportunities to (if at all) as time goes on. FULL COMMENTARY HERE
